About myStoreAlert
What we do, how we do it, and where we get it wrong.
Home Depot clearance and penny pricing happens at the store level. Two locations ten miles apart can have completely different markdowns on the same day. There was no reliable way to watch one specific store without driving there yourself or waiting for someone on a forum to notice first, so we built an automated scan instead of another crowdsourced list.
How the scan works
Each covered Home Depot store gets checked daily. When an item's price has moved into clearance or down toward a penny, we log it with the store, the price, and the date we saw it. Members set the one store or ZIP code they want watched, and their dashboard shows that store's current list as it updates.
What “48 hours” means
The sample feed on the homepage is real, scanned data, but it runs 48 hours behind what members see, so a paying member always has a head start on a public visitor. 329 Home Depot stores are covered as of today, and we would rather say that plainly than round it up. See the stores we scan for the current list.
Where we get it wrong
Prices and stock at any physical store change fast, sometimes within the same day we saw them. An item on our list can already be gone, marked back up, or subject to a supervisor override by the time you get there. Always verify at the register before you make a special trip for one item.
