Deepest markdowns of the month
A handful of items dropped low enough, and repeated across enough stores, that they are worth calling out on their own.
The clearest pattern was a 2-Gang White Antimicrobial Decora wall plate that turned up at five different stores this month, from $0.10 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, down to $0.18 in Port Richey, Florida, all off a $1.98 shelf price. One store having a dead SKU is normal. Five stores clearing the exact same wall plate independently, within a single week, is the kind of pattern that only shows up when you are actually scanning store by store.
The 0.8 cu. ft. bagged rubber mulch in Houston was the single lowest price we confirmed all month at $0.10, a 99% cut off its $7.47 shelf price, and one of the few sightings that dropped further than $0.20.
A Holland concrete paver showed up at $0.22 in three separate stores around the Washington, D.C. area (Oxon Hill, Upper Marlboro, and Capitol Heights, all in Maryland) within days of each other, suggesting a regional reset rather than three unrelated coincidences.
A RumbleStone mini concrete paver in Brooklyn dropped to $0.20 off a $1.97 price, one of the few near-penny sightings we confirmed outside the South and Southwest this month.
What stood out by department
Landscaping and hardscape materials, pavers, edging, mulch, and retaining wall block, showed up more often in the steepest markdowns than any other category this month. That lines up with late-summer yard projects wrapping up and stores clearing seasonal outdoor stock ahead of fall resets. Kitchen and bath items appeared too, but usually at smaller discounts, closer to 30 to 50% off rather than the 90%-plus cuts landscaping saw.
